Jazeera Airways launches first flight to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent

Jazeera Airways launched the first flight from Kuwait to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek Dunyo news agency.

According to the information, the opening ceremony of the first flight of the Kuwait airline Jazeera Airways on the Kuwait-Tashkent route was held on June 27 at the Kuwait International Airport, with the participation of representatives of the Uzbek Embassy in Kuwait.

Jazeera Airways CEO Rohit Ramachandran in his speech stressed the importance of opening direct flights between the capitals of Kuwait and Uzbekistan saying that the establishment of regular flights will help strengthen ties between the peoples of the two countries and increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan, develop trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two states.

In April this it was reported that Jazeera Airways received permission to operate regular flights to Uzbekistan. Flights will be operated on A320-214 and A320-251N aircraft.

Earlier it was reported that Saudi FlyNas low-cost airline Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan (Uzaviation) have been allowed to operate regular flights to Uzbekistan on the Riyadh – Tashkent – Riyadh route. In accordance with this permission, the airline will regularly operate flights on Airbus 320-251N aircraft.

Also, on the basis of an agreement on air communications between the governments of Uzbekistan and India, Air India will begin operating regular flights to Uzbekistan on the Delhi - Tashkent - Delhi route. It was noted that the airline will operate flights on Airbus 320-214 and Airbus 320-251N aircraft.
