The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 14 percent in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the 1st month (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 190,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month. Of this, about 163,000 tons were loaded and 27,000 tons were unloaded.

“Furthermore, 115,000 tons of cargo were exported and 781 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port in the second month,” the statistics said.

Also, 442 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,540 tons were unloaded in the port for transit over the second month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 46,800 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage during the reporting month. As well as, 337 tons of cargo were loaded and 20,400 tons were unloaded for other purposes.

“So, 106,000 tons of essential products, 1 ton of metal products, 15,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 986 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Shahid Bahonar port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 33 tons of leather products, clothing, fiber, paper and wood materials, 20,200 tons of container products, 46,800 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port in the same month, statistics said.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
