Iran’s PMO shares data on cargo transportation in Bandar Lengeh port

About 118,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Port and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, this is an increase of 25 percent, compared to the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021). So, 91,700 tons of cargo were loaded and 25,800 tons were unloaded in the port in the second month.

About 91,300 tons of cargo were exported and 6,740 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port over the second month, the statistics said.

“Furthermore, 18,700 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as, 251 tons of cargo were loaded and 281 tons were unloaded for cabotage during the reporting month,” the statistics said.

According to the report, 133 tons of cargo were loaded and 66 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes in the second month.

So, 52,300 tons of essential products, 42,600 tons of construction and mining materials, 19,600 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year, the statistics said.

“Moreover, 2,760 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 77 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month,” the statistics said.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
