Iran shares data on cargo transportation in Sistan and Baluchestan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7

In general, 887,000 tons of cargo were transported in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Director General for Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of the province Ayyoub Kord said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

According to the director general, the transported cargo was mainly construction materials, chemicals and agricultural products.

He added that the cargo was transported in the province within about 53,000 trips. Cargo transportation was carried out by 69 cargo companies of the province.

Kord noted that the cargo is transported in accordance with all protocols related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The director general said that 3 terminals in 3 counties of the province, 2 unions of entrepreneurs and 2 unions of drivers are currently operating under the Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
