Kazakhstan boosts revenues from railway passenger transport

Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 6.03 billion tenge ($14.06 million), which is 1.5 times more than in June 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue was 25.4 billion tenge ($59.3 million) over six months of 2021, which is 0.9 percent less in comparison to last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 6.5 million people over six months, which is a 12.1 percent more compared to the same period of last year (1.4 million passengers in June 2021, up by 78.2 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 5.2 billion passenger kilometers (pkm) which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 2.01 times. June’s passenger turnover was 1.2 billion pkm (19.4 percent increase year-on-year).

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway transportation amounted to 518.7 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) over six months of 2021, which is 9.3 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

Revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway in June 2021 amounted to 91.8 billion tenge ($214.02 million), which is 7.4-percent increase in comparison to the same month of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage transported via railway during the reporting period amounted to 204.09 million tons, climbing by 12.1 percent compared to the same period of last year (33.6 million tons in June 2021, up by 3.7 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 145.3 billion ton-kilometers increasing by 1.6 percent comparison to last year (25.1 billion in June 2021, an increase of 3.5 percent).
