Volume of cargo loaded-unloaded in Iran’s Khorramshahr port declines

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) decreased by about 30 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), compared to the 2nd month (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 166,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the third month. Of this, about 156,000 tons were loaded and 9,720 tons were unloaded.

At the same time, 155,000 tons of cargo were exported and 9,350 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

"Furthermore, 111 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as, 814 tons were loaded 251 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the third month," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 4,780 tons of essential products, 31,800 tons of metal products, 118,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,620 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 3 tons of chemicals, 1,720 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 54 tons of small and assorted products, 6,380 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.53 million tons were loaded and 4.93 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year
