Volume of cargo loaded-unloaded in Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port increases

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by about 20 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), compared to the 2nd month (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 238,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the third month. Of this, about 205,000 tons were loaded and 32,400 tons were unloaded.

“Furthermore, 159,000 tons of cargo were exported and 3,920 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Within the third month, 321 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,580 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 45,000 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 317 tons of cargo were loaded and 21,900 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the third month.

“So, 94,300 tons of essential products, 17,900 tons of metal products, 53,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,730 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 29 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 21,800 tons of container products, 48,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

As reported, about 11.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.53 million tons were loaded and 4.93 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
