Iran unveils details of cargo transportation in Ardabil Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 30

In general, 1.7 million tons of cargo were transported in the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), Director General for Ardabil Province Roads and Transport Department Vahid Mirmohammadi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

According to Mirmohammadi, main parts of cargo were transported to Ardabil, Parsabad, Namin and Bilasuvar counties of the province. The transported goods were mainly agricultural products, cement, mineral water, various wood materials and fuels.

“There are 87 cargo companies operating in the province with 12,900 trucks. These companies employ 11,800 drivers,” he added.

The director general noted that the Ardabil Province Roads and Transport Department pays special attention to the timely delivery of cargo and goods in the province.
