Kazakhstan reports drastic jumps in revenues from air transport

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 12.1 billion tenge ($28.6 million) from January through August 2021, which is 64.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in August 2021 amounted to 1.3 billion tenge ($3.2 million), which is 25.6 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 22,520 tons, which is 73.1 percent more compared to the same period of last year (2,570 tons in August 2021, increase by 23.2 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 50.2 million ton-kilometers which is 46.4 percent more than during the same period of last year (4.6 million in August 2021, an increase of 26 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 217.7 billion tenge ($512.3 million) from January through August 2021, which is 78 percent more than during the same period of last year. August revenue from passenger transportation was 39.2 billion tenge ($92.4 million), which is 2.9 times more than in August 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 6.05 million people, which is 90.3 percent more than during the same period of last year (911,840 passengers in August 2021, up by 69.5 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 9.5 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 92.4 percent. The August passenger turnover was 1.5 billion (2.4 times more year-on-year).
