The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 19.4 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 167,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the seventh month. Of this, about 147,000 tons were loaded and 20,500 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 94,200 tons of cargo were exported and 2,470 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 7th month, 1,030 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,660 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 51,200 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 228 tons of cargo were loaded, while 16,400 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the seventh month.
“So, 74,900 tons of essential products, 570 tons of metal products, 8,220 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,620 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 183 tons of chemicals, 107 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 16,800 tons of container products, 64,700 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
