Iran is increasing the number of shipping lines at the Caspian Sea for trade with countries in the region, said the director-general of commercial development office in Iran Trade Promotion Organization, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
Iran has considered new measures to increase non-oil export to the Eurasian countries and reduce the cost of transportation for exporters, Ehsan Ghamari noted.
Iran has launched eight regular shipping lines in late October from its northern ports to Astrakhan and Makhachkala ports in Russia and Aktau port in Kazakhstan, he indicated.
The number of shipping lines will increase from eight to ten in the near future to increase Iran's trade with countries in the Caspian Sea region.
