The number of passengers transported via the Shahid Beheshti International Airport in the Isfahan Province (central Iran) increased by 39 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, a total of 979,718 passengers were transported through the airport in 8 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 702,497.
Over eight months, 11,992 flights were carried out from Shahid Beheshti International Airport, which is an increase of 31 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure amounted to 9,155 in the same period last Iranian year.
“Furthermore, 10,846 tons of cargo were transported via this airport within the mentioned period. Cargo transportation increased by 33 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 8,151 tons of cargo had been transported through the airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
The Shahid Beheshti International Airport is located on an area of about 1,000 hectares.
