Volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in Iran’s Khorramshahr port soar

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 7.71 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021, through January 20, 2022), compared to the 9th month (November 22 through December 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 311,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 10th month. Of this, about 290,000 tons were loaded and 21,000 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, 289,000 tons of cargo were exported and 20,400 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

Also, 79 tons of cargo were loaded and 487 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 644 tons of cargo were loaded and 97 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the same time period.

According to the statistics, 4,840 tons of essential products, 17,200 tons of metal products, 266,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 4,630 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 10th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 4,530 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 32 tons of small and assorted goods, 13,400 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

About 17.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 11.9 million tons were loaded and 6.03 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 42 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
