Iran records increase in transit of goods via country’s railways

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2

Transit of goods through Iranian railways increased by 115 percent, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), compared to the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports via the report of Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

According to the report, a total of 1,737,000 tons of goods were transited through Iranian railways in 11 months.

Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year, the figure stood at 805,000 tons. This means that the transit of goods through country’s railways for 11 months increased by 932,000 tons, compared to the last Iranian year.
