Kazakhstan's revenues from air cargo transport plummet

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 534.8 million tenge ($1.09 million) in January 2022, which is 78.3 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 1,160 tons, which is 53.5 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 2.5 million ton-kilometers which is 53.1 percent less than during the same period of last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 20.4 billion tenge ($41.4 million) in January 2022, which is 3.4 percent more than during the same period of last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 526,980 people, which is 11 percent less than during the same period of last year.

The passenger turnover amounted to 850.9 million passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 0.6 percent.
