Cargo transportation through the Azerbaijani section of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia International Transport Corridor (TRACECA) amounted to about 3.4 million tons in January 2022, which is 6.52 percent or 213,500 tons more than the same period in 2021, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The cargo turnover through the Azerbaijani section of TRACECA exceeded 803.8 million ton-kilometers, which is 4.2 percent (33.1 million ton-kilometers) more than in January 2021.
Cargo transportation in Azerbaijan by road accounted for about 1.96 million tons or 56.2 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation, by railway - over 1.1 million tons (32.2 percent), by the sea - more than 405,700 tons (11.6 percent) in January 2022.
Transit cargo transportation accounted for more than 806,300 tons (23.1 percent) of the total volume of cargo transportation.
