BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports decreased by 58.3 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022) to April 2, 2022, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via today's report of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the report, about 2.01 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting period. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at about 4.83 million tons.

So, 410,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned period. This is a decrease of 78.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (1.87 million tons).

The volume of twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container shipments amounted to 10,000 tons. This is a decrease of 85.7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (70,000 tons).

The volume of other container shipments was 100,000 tons, which is 88.7 percent less than in the same period of the last Iranian year (910,000 tons).

The general cargo volume stood at 540,000 tons showing a 12-percent decrease compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (610,000 tons).

Dry bulk cargo volume reached 940,000 tons. This is a decrease of 27.3 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (1.3 million tons).

The liquid bulk cargo was 20,000 tons. This is 83.2 percent less than in the same period of the last Iranian year (140,000 tons).

The cargo was loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in Abadan, Arvandkenar, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Tiab, Jask, Chabahar, Charak, Chavibdeh, Khorramshahr, Dayyer, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Shahid Haqqani, Fereidoonkenar, Qeshm, Genaveh, Bandar Lengeh, and Noshahr.
