BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Charak port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 9 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 72,300 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the 1st month. Of this amount, 55,800 tons were loaded, and 16,500 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 15,200 tons of cargo were exported through the Charak port during the reporting month.

At the same time, more than 40,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 16,500 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage within the 1st month.

About, 13,400 tons of essential products, 36,900 tons of construction and mining materials, 503 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 53 tons of chemicals, 20,800 tons of small and assorted goods, and 680 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Charak port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
