BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. The volume of international transit cargo in Azerbaijani Absheron Logistics Center has increased since the beginning of 2022, project manager of Absheron Logistics Center Elmaddin Huseynov told Trend.

According to him, today's logistics center works at the capacity of 30 percent or about 3 million tons.

"Our center can handle even larger volumes of cargo - up to 10 million tons per year. We receive requests for the transportation of transit goods through the territory of our country on routes Turkiye - countries of Central Asia, Turkiye - Russia, Russia – Turkiye,” Huseynov said.

“Negotiations are underway to determine the appropriate routes for the transportation of these cargoes," he added.

Huseynov emphasized that transportation of transit goods on the route Turkiye - Central Asian countries through Azerbaijan increased, during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

"This growth continued in 2021, and now is being observed. Azerbaijan has significantly increased imports of construction materials," he added.

Absheron Logistics Center is located on the territory of 65 hectares, equipped with modern equipment, and provides services for the international transport of goods by rail, temporary storage of goods in warehouses and a number of other services.
