BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. The cost of goods transported via sea in Azerbaijan grew from January through April 2022, the State Customs Committee told Trend.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to $312.9 million, up by over $164.8 million (2.11 times) on annual basis.

Nearly 214,936 tons of cargo were transported via sea in the first four months of this year, which is 49,507 tons (30 percent) more than in the same period of 2021, the committee said.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo exported by sea decreased by 16,995 tons (47.1 percent) and equaled 19,085 tons. The export value exceeded $16.1 million (down by $2.8 million or 14.93 percent).

Some 195,850 tons accounted for import, amounting to more than $296.7 million (up by $167.7 million or 2.3 times year on year).

In 4M2022, the cost of cargo shipments by all means of transport in Azerbaijan exceeded $15.8 billion, including export worth nearly $11.8 billion, and imports - over $11.8 billion, added the committee.
