BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 104.2 billion tenge ($240.6 million) from January through May 2022, which is 36.4 percent more than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in May 2022 amounted to 25.7 billion tenge ($59.4 million), which is 45.4 percent more than during the same period of 2021.

The volume of cargo, luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 1.1 billion tons, which is 1.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year (226.9 million tons in May 2022, down by 6.3 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 52.7 billion ton-kilometers which is 1.2 percent less than during the same period of last year (10.7 billion in May 2022, a decrease of 3.1 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 44.6 billion tenge ($103.09 million) over the reporting period of 2022, which is 21.7 percent more than during the same period of last year. May revenue from passenger transportation was 10.5 billion tenge ($24.3 million), which is 30.5 percent more compared to May 2021.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 2.7 billion people, which is 16 percent more than during the same period of last year (580.7 million passengers in May 2022, up by 4.6 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 29.6 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 16.3 percent.

The passenger turnover in May was 6.2 billion (9.1 percent more year-on-year).
