BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. The transit of TIRs [Transport International Router trucks] through Azerbaijan grew in the first half of 2022, the press service of the Baku International Sea Port (Port of Baku) told Trend.
According to the press service, this figure amounted to 23,410, up by 29.5 percent compared to the first half of June 2021 (18,075).
The growth in the transshipment of TIRs was favored by the creation of more favorable conditions, as well as the expansion of infrastructure opportunities, the press service said.
In 2021, the transshipment of TIRs through the Port of Baku increased by 84 percent compared to 2018 - up to 39,431.
"This trend is expected to continue in the current and subsequent years," added the press service.
