BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports decreased by 6.8 percent, in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022), compared to the same month of the last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, over 12.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. Of this, 6.14 million tons were loaded and about 6.19 million tons were unloaded.

“About 4.55 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month, which is a decrease of 7 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, about 2.6 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and about 1.95 million tons were unloaded. The loaded oil products decreased by 14.9 percent, while unloaded products increased by 6.2 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, 2.18 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is a decrease of 11.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 196,000 tons were loaded and about 1.99 million tons were unloaded.

According to the statistics, 452,000 tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 4th month, which is a decrease of 59.3 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 434,000 tons were loaded and about 18,100 tons were unloaded.

“At the same time, 1.74 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is an increase of 6.6 percent, compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 1.5 million tons were loaded and 241,000 tons were unloaded,” the statistics said.

Within the 4th month, 51,700 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports. This is an increase of 10.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 10,400 tons were loaded and 41,300 tons were unloaded.

According to the statistics, about 394,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month of the current Iranian year, which is a decrease of 12.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 303,000 tons were loaded and about 91,000 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, 179,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper, and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 4th month, which is an increase of 173 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 3,260 tons of goods were loaded and 176,000 tons were unloaded.

A total of 511,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 235,000 tons were loaded and about 276,000 tons were unloaded, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 2.27 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month, which is an increase of 9.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, about 902,000 tons of container products were loaded and about 1.34 million tons were unloaded.

Moreover, 4.87 million tons of goods were exported and about 3.16 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the 4th month of the current Iranian year.

Also, 320,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 461,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month.

According to the statistics, 814,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 2.24 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 4th month. Also, about 159,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 159,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.

“Over the 4th month, 16,700 tons of cargo were loaded and about 125,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
