BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. A total of 330.2 million tons of cargo was transported in Kazakhstan by all means of transport in August 2022, which is 7 percent less than in August 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, the volume of cargo transported over eight months of 2022 amounted to 2.3 billion tons, which is 2.5 percent less year-on-year compared to 2.4 billion tons over the same period of last year.

Thus, the majority of the cargo was transported in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region. The volume of cargo transported in the region amounted to 67.6 million tons in August and 446.6 million tons over the reporting period of 2022, which is 6.1 percent less and 2.5 percent less than during the same period last year, respectively.

Karaganda region is followed by the Abay region with 44.4 million tons transported in August 2022 (down by 13.7 percent compared to August 2021). The volume of cargo transported in the region during the reporting period amounted to 351.1 million tons, which compared to 355.4 million during the same period last year, indicates a 1.2-percent decrease.

Kostanay region takes third place country-wide by the cargo transported in August 2022 (26.09 million tons, down by 17.8 percent). The volume of cargo transported in the region over the period from January through August 2022 amounted to 187.7 million tons, which is 7.2 percent less than during the same period last year (202.2 million tons).

The least cargo volume was transported in the Ulytau region. The transported cargo volume stood at 2.5 million tons of cargo in August 2022, which is 28.1 percent less than in August 2021. The volume of cargo transported from January through August 2022 was 20.7 million tons, which is 28.1 percent less year-on-year.
