BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation via railways amounted to 7.7 billion tenge ($16.2 million) in September 2022, which is 52.1 percent more than in September 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue was 72.3 billion tenge ($151.7 million) over the period from January through September 2022, which is 54.2 percent more in comparison to last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 14.6 million people over nine months of 2022, which is 32.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year (1.5 million passengers in September 2022, up by 32.7 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 12.4 billion passenger-kilometers (pkm) which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 38.7 percent. September’s passenger turnover was 1.3 billion pkm (41.2 percent increase year-on-year).

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway transportation amounted to 891.07 billion tenge ($1.8 billion) over the period from January through September 2022, which is 10.1 percent more than during the same period of 2021.

Revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via railway in September 2022 amounted to 104.6 billion tenge ($219.4 million), which is 14.2 percent more in comparison to the same month of 2021.

The volume of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage transported via railway during the reporting period amounted to 305.9 million tons, decreasing by 0.4 percent compared to the same period of last year (32.9 million tons in September 2022, down by 2 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 231.4 billion ton-kilometers increasing by 5.4 percent compared to last year (25.2 billion in September 2022, which is 5.5 percent more than during the same period of 2021).
