BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Cargo transportation by rail increased slightly in Azerbaijan from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, the growth was 5 percent, and the volume of traffic exceeded 10.6 million tons.
CJSC transported over 10.1 million tons of cargo from January through July 2022.
Cargo transportation by all means of transport amounted to 109.2 million tons in Azerbaijan from January through June 2023, which is 6.4 percent higher in comparison with the same period in 2022.
The share of railway transport accounted for 8.4 percent of all freight traffic from January through June 2023.
