Kazmortransflot, Batumi Industrial Holding sign memorandum of cooperation

Kazmortransflot National Maritime Shipping Company (KMTF) and Batumi Industrial Holding Limited (BIHL) , including Batumi Oil Terminal, Batumi Sea Port and Petrotrans, have signed a memorandum of cooperation on Friday.

Kazmortransflot National Maritime Shipping Company (KMTF) and Batumi Industrial Holding Limited (BIHL) , including Batumi Oil Terminal, Batumi Sea Port and Petrotrans, have signed a memorandum of cooperation on Friday.

The document was signed in accordance with the Kazakh President's instructions as of January 23 regarding increasing cargo traffic on Aktau-Baku-Batumi route and in the framework of cooperation and improving partnership relations.

As Batumi Oil Terminal press service told Trend, under the memorandum the parties will contribute to ensuring cargo transportation on Aktau-Baku-Batumi route from Kazakhstan, including transit goods, and reverse loading of imported goods from the Black Sea.

The companies will expand transportation services for handling general cargo and developing sea ferry.

In fact, KMTF and BIHL are pioneers in this issue and they have already started work on cooperation development without waiting for further instructions.

"We are proud of our national company's achievements, proud that our vessels not only ply the Caspian Sea, but also enter international waters. Thanks to this memorandum, our company and the Batumi Industrial Holding will combine their efforts to attract cargo traffic on Aktau-Baku -Batumi route," KMTF director general Marat Ormanov said.

"The BIHL includes some of the most important assets in the region -Batumi Sea Port , Batumi Oil Terminal and Petrotrans. As the most important players of Georgian transport corridor, our assets are strategic for Kazakhstan. This is why cooperation with KMTF and signing of this memorandum is fully consistent with the interests of our companies, as well as the interests of Georgia and Kazakhstan, as the sole purpose of this memorandum is increasing the cargo traffic," head of Batumi Industrial Holdings Limited group of companies Talgat Baitaziyev said at the signing ceremony.
