The Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan has drafted maps for solving the problems in country's agro-industrial complex, the ministry said in a statement on Nov.14.

"The Ministry, within the framework of the state program to ensure the further growth of the agro-industrial complex, has systemized main problems and defined measures with specific indicators in the form of maps. Ten maps for the development of priority areas of the agro-industrial complex have already been developed and two more are under development. The draft maps have been thoroughly discussed with representatives of industry associations and unions, public councils, agribusiness and scientific organizations and have been finalized taking into account the views of all stakeholders, "said Kayrat Aytuganov, the First Vice Minister of Agriculture.

In particular, these maps are on agricultural cooperation, agro-processing, technical re-equipment, seed production, plant protection, agrochemistry (mineral fertilizers), fodder production (aft balance), arable land expansion, sheep breeding and agronomics modernization.

The ministry noted that the map of agricultural cooperatives has already been adopted and thanks to its implementation, the first results in animal husbandry have been achieved. The production of livestock products increased by 3.3 percent: meat - by 5.7percent and milk - by 2.8 percent.

So, as of November 1, 2017, about 770 cooperatives have been established with coverage of more than 56,000 private households and small peasant farms.

To increase the effectiveness of subsidizing the agro-industrial complex and increasing the coverage of state support for the subjects of the agro-industrial complex, 65 types of subsidies have been revised this year. Some 11 ineffective subsidies were eliminated, criteria were changed for 40 and the remaining 14 are left unchanged.

In general, the implementation of the agribusiness development maps will raise the agro-industrial complex to a qualitatively new level of development, increase its competitiveness, strengthen the stability of the domestic food market and strengthen the export orientation of the industry.
