KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will not restart flights from Amsterdam to Astana and Almaty cities of Kazakhstan, the company said in a message posted on its official Facebook page.

"Despite the earlier announcement on the transition to the seasonal flight program for Kazakhstan, KLM will not renew flights en route Amsterdam-Astana / Almaty (KL405 / KL407) for the summer season (April-October) from 2018," the message said.

The company reported that the decision is made given economic reasons and is the result of optimization of the route network of the airline KLM.

Air France and KLM will continue to operate in Kazakhstan thanks to the code-sharing agreement with Air Astana on the flights Astana-Paris, offering flights to the Air France KLM route network via Charles De Gaulle airport, as well as through other partnership agreements from various airports Kazakhstan.

KLM is a Dutch airline, since 2004 it is a subsidiary of Air France-KLM. KLM, and its partner airlines serve a network of routes linking more than 360 cities in 78 countries on five continents.
