BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 24. The total trade turnover between Poland and the countries of Central Asia over the first 10 months of 2022 is expected to amount to approximately $3.2 billion, which is an increase of 40 percent, or $1 billion, year-on-year, the source at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland told Trend.
According to the ministry, Polish exports to Central Asia in the reporting period will reach about $1.5 billion (up by 25 percent, or $400 million, year-on-year), while the imports will total about $1.7 billion (up by 50 percent, or $600 million, year-on-year).
The highest trade growth dynamics in 10M2022 was observed with Kyrgyzstan (2.5-fold increase), Uzbekistan (+55 percent), and Kazakhstan (+30 percent).
At the same time, polish exports are dominated by machinery and equipment, the share of which in the exports to Central Asia exceeded 50 percent in 10M2022, the source noted.
"This applies to a wide range of goods, including automotive products, agricultural machinery and equipment for food processing, mining equipment, household appliances, electronic devices, medical equipment and others. The markets of Central Asian countries also sell Polish pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agricultural and food products and many other goods. On the other hand, from Central Asia, mineral, chemical, textile and other products are supplied to Poland to a large extent," the ministry added.
