Kazakhstan, Astana, 13 March / Trend corr. K.Konirova / Mustafa Balchik, the Deputy Director General of the Organization for Turkic Culture Development (TURKSOY), stated to journalists that the new candidate for the post of Director-General of the organization was elected from Kazakhstan.
"Duysen Kaseinov is a new Director-General of the Organization for the Turkic Culture Development from Kazakhstan," Balchik said after his meeting with Ermuhammad Yertisbayev, Culture and Information Minister.
TURKSOY unites several countries and autonomies, including the Republic of Tuva in the east and Cyprus in the west. Presently the organization is headed by Polad Bul-Bulogli.
Balchik stated that the Turkish world will mark the millennial anniversary of Mahmud Kashgari, the author of the encyclopaedia 'Diuani Lugat-at-Turk', which describes countless sides of Turkic nations. This scientific conference will be held in Ankara in May 2008.
