Biometric ID Cards to be Issued for Kazakh People

Trend R.Meshadihasanli / From November of 2008 the Kazakh people can register biometric identification cards (ID), which will correspond to international standards. Moreover, Kazakhstan's citizens can travel the European Union (EU) countries without difficulty and rules of border-check point will be toughened in these countries from July of 2009. A new model of domestic ID was submitted to the Justice Ministry's Information and Production Centre on 17 July. Developers said that its technological capabilities practically excluded falsification. The new ID card cost 5,000 tenge ($41.6) per one. Bakhit Abishev, the deputy chairman of the Justice Ministry's Registration Service Committee, said that banknote plant would design the patterns of biometric IDs and this plant gained this right as a result of tender.

Journalists of Almaty became the first strangers, who were let come inside the Justice Ministry's Registration Service Committee. Biometric ID cards will be fabricated for the Kazakh citizens through super modern equipment. A total of 750,000 forms were developed for a year and this figure indicates the productivity of this complex. The Kazakh people will register new IDs from November 2008.
