Kazakh President Congratulates Barack Obama on his Victory

Kazakhstan, Astana, 5 November / Trend corr. K.Konirova / Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated Barack Obama on his victory in the presidential elections of the United States, the Presidential Administration said.

Head of state sincerely congratulated Obama on convincing victory in the presidential elections of the United States on behalf of the Kazakh people and personally in his congratulation message.

"Relations between our countries, which have begun with scale cooperation in nuclear disarmament, entered strategic partnership, having great importance to strengthen stability and security in the Central Asian region. Our relations have been more strengthened thanks to joint efforts on stabilization of Iraq and restoration of Afghanistan. We welcome support of the United States, which was rendered to us in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which Kazakhstan will lead in 2010. It demonstrates our general adherence to principles, described in the bilateral Charter on democratic partnership," Nazarbayev's congratulation letter reported.

According to the Kazakh President, an important factor in good-neighborly relations between the countries includes partnership in support of private entrepreneurship, investment and supply with energy resources to satisfy demand of expanding global market. Common traditions in religious tolerance and interethnic agreement unite Astana and Washington in humanitarian field.

"I am sure that partnership relations between Kazakhstan and the United States, which were based on friendship and mutual trust, will develop and strengthen for nations of our countries in future, as well. I wish You health and successes in Your responsible activity and nation of the United States - prosperity, peace and flourishing," the Kazakh President's congratulation letter reported.
