Early parliamentary elections to cost 8.6 bln tenge in Kazakhstan

Early elections of the Majilis members (a lower chamber of the Kazakh parliament) will cost 8.6 billion tenge of the state treasury, the Majilis member Victor Rogalev said at a press conference in Astana on Thursday.
"About 8.6 billion tenge is envisaged in the budget in 2012 to hold elections to local representative bodies and the Majilis," he said.
On Thursday morning, a group of MPs appealed to the president with a request to dissolve the chamber and to hold early parliamentary elections.
The official exchange rate is $ 1 - 147.7 tenge.
