The people of Kazakhstan will support the "Nur Otan" party and it will get the most votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections next year, said the leader of the ruling party "Nur Otan", President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"The parliamentary election is a moment of truth. I believe in the people's support. We, Nur Otan members, need only a victory to implement our programs and improve living standards," he said.
Early parliamentary elections are scheduled for January 15, 2012.
Nazarbayev also instructed to tighten control in selection of personnel for key positions, both in the provinces and in the government, Trend correspondent reports from the ruling party's congress, which started on Friday in Astana.
"It is necessary to strengthen the party's control in selection of personnel, starting from representatives of the party's district branches to appointment of ministers," said Nazarbayev, speaking at the party congress.
He also invited "Nur Otan" to become a center of putting strategic initiatives forward.
"It is important that "Nur Otan" signs a memorandum on cooperation with NGOs and other political parties. As president, I will work with all political forces, which will be represented in Parliament," - he said.
