Kazakh opposition-run Nationwide Social Democratic Party (NSDP) and Communist Parties approved lists for parliamentary election on Saturday.

The NSDP approved the party list of 57 persons for election to the Majilis - the Lower House of the Parliament of Kazakhstan - at a congress in Alma-Ata on Saturday, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.

Moreover, party's election platform was created at the congress. According to the platform, the NSDP advocates multiple increase in wages, pensions and benefits, reduction of unemployment, tax cuts for businesses, promulgation of the terms of commodity contracts dating back to 1990s,
and revision of these contracts if their terms do not meet the interests of the country.

NSDP opposes creation of the Eurasian Union. According to the party, this process would lead to loss of Kazakhstan's sovereignty. The party thinks such decisions should be made through a popular referendum.

Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan (CPPK) approved the party list of 23 people for elections to the Majilis at the Congress on Saturday, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

Primary elections to Majilis will be held on January 15-16. Deputies from party lists (98 members) will be elected on the first day, deputies elected by the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan (9 members) will be elected on the second day.
According to the law, at least two parties should have seats in Parliament's Majilis.
