Kazakhstan plans to invite the UN experts to investigate the Zhanaozen's events, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson Altay Abibullaev said at a briefing in Astana on Thursday.

"The Kazakh government scrutinizes the matter of involvement of the UN experts and independent experts of other countries in the near future to ensure the objective and careful investigation of facts mass riots in Zhanaozen in compliance with all norms of national legislative, human rights and international legal practice in the field of mass unrests investigation," Abibullaev said.

Mass riots hit the Kazakh oil town of Zhanaozen in the Mangistau region on Dec.16 killing 17 and injuring more than 100 people. Buildings and cars were burned, property of individuals and legal entities were destructed. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev declared a state of emergency from Dec. 17 to Jan. 5.

Before the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev stated events in Zhanaozen were organized by criminal groups financed from abroad, considers.
