Gas pipeline catches fire in South Kazakhstan

The Tashkent-Almaty underground gas pipeline caught fire in the South Kazakhstan following rupture, Kazinform reported on Wednesday with reference to the Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry. No victims are reported.

"The Tashkent-Almaty underground gas pipeline with 1000 mm diameter ruptured today at 05:28 and then caught fire (flame height - 100-150 meters) in the South Kazakhstan region, 700 meters far from the Nazarbek village," the Ministry said.

Eight employees and two equipments of South Kazakhstan's Emergency Situation Department of the Emergency Situations Ministry are dealing with the emergency situation.
