On July 31, some 6 cars of the freight train have derailed in Borodulikha area of the East Kazakhstan region at the Semey-Lokot site, the region's Department of Emergency Situations told Trend by telephone on Wednesday.

"The incident occurred yesterday afternoon. There were no casualties," the Department said.

Because of the accident, 'Almaty-Novosibirsk' passenger train was delayed for six hours. It had to make an emergency stop in the city of Semey.

The cause of the accident, according to experts, could be a high temperature, causing the rails heated and sharp deceleration of the freight train.

Restoration of the damaged site ended yesterday. Some 50 railway men worked on-site. In this area, trains reduce speed. The overhaul of the way is scheduled for today.
