A forest fire started on Aug. 22 in the Ile-Alatau National Park of Kazakhstan was extinguished today at 12:45 pm, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
The area the state forest resources covered to fight the fire, was 21 hectares. Some 710 people, 62 pieces of equipment and four helicopters were involved.
In order to identify the causes and determine the extent of the damage the Almaty Regional Territorial Inspectorate for Forestry and Hunting of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, together with the bodies of fire service of Almaty region launched an internal investigation.
