Former head of Kazakhstan's Zhanaozen sentenced to long imprisonment

Special Interdistrict Court passed a verdict on the case of former head of Kazakh city of Zhanaozen, Orak Sarbopeev on Tuesday, Kazinform reported.
Considering the circumstances of the case, the Court sentenced the former mayor to 10 years in prison in a colony confiscating his property.
Sarbopeev is accused of large-amount bribery. Earlier a jury in Zhanaozen acquitted the mayor and investigation of the case was transferred to Aktobe due to prosecution demand.
