Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov has met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldayev in Bishkek, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said today.
"Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov has held a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldayev within the ministerial meeting "European Union - Central Asia" in Bishkek," a statement said.
The current state and further directions of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade, water and energy, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, cooperation within the international organizations were discussed during the meeting. The sides have exchanged the views on the current situation in Central Asia.
In particular, the foreign ministers of the two countries considered the implementation of joint agreements reached during Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Kyrgyzstan in August 2012.
The agreement on a close cooperation between the diplomatic bodies of the two countries was reached following the meeting.
