Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrisov met with Secretary General of the Bureau of International Expositions Vicente Loscertales in Astana on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry reported.
BIE Secretary General congratulated Kazakh Foreign Minister with victory of Astana in the struggle for the right to host EXPO-2017, highlighting the relevance of the theme "Energy for the future."
Idrisov said that a special state commission with the participation of heads of ministries and the National Plan was created for EXRO-2017. Concerning the activities of the MFA in this direction the Minister noted creating of the operating staff in the department for working with the international participants.
The parties extensively discussed preparations for EXPO in Astana, as well as the possibility of using the infrastructure of the exhibition after it was completed.
