France is interested in deepening the strategic partnership with Kazakhstan, Laurent Fabius said in his interview to Trend.

"The aim of my visit to Astana considering the wish of French president Francois Hollande is deepening strategic partnership between our countries and further development of bilateral relations in all spheres, especially in economy", Fabius emphasized.

As previously reported, the official Astana visit of the French minister of Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius starts today.

After Astana the head of French foreign office will visit Tashkent and Ashkhabad.
During the visit Fabius will first meet the president Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Then he will take part in negotiations with Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Eerlan Idrisov.

Laurent Fabius reminded that there is an Agreement on strategic partnership signed between two countries.

"This document exists not only on paper. It is supported by specific actions. Nowadays Kazakhstan is one of important partners of France in a number of negotiation processes related to urgent contemporary problems such as the future of Afghanistan, nuclear program of Iran, situation in Syria. We think that only together world can resist such threads as terrorism." the French minister noted.

Large attention will be payed to the discussion of economic co-operation during meetings in Astana.

"We observe noticeable and stable growth of the economy of Kazakhstan during recent years. We see that your president wants the government to take actions for diversification of the economy of the country with the emphasis on the attraction of investments. French enterprises can also contribute to this programme.

Representatives of companies that accompany me are going to discuss perspectives of their participation in concrete joint projects," Fabius said.
