Kazakhstan and Bolivia established diplomatic relations after their permanent UN representatives signed a joint communiqué in New York, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said.

Kazakhstan and Bolivia established diplomatic relations after their permanent UN representatives signed a joint communiqué in New York, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said.

"On the Kazakh side, the document was signed by the permanent representative of Kazakhstan to the UN Birganym Aitimova, and on the Bolivian side - by the country's permanent representative to the UN, Sasha Sergio Yorenti," a press release from the Foreign Ministry said.

During the meeting, Sasha Sergio Yorenti talked about the interest of South American countries in establishing bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan, in particular in the fields of energy, economics, trade and tourism.

Bolivia is a member of the Organization of American States (OAS), ALBA (Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America) - an international organization and sub-regional integration grouping of Latin America and the Caribbean, Mercosur - the Southern Common Market and CELAC - the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.
