Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has dismissed Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev, the presidential official website said today.

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has dismissed Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev, the presidential official website said today.

'According to the Kazakh president's decree, Sauat Mynbayev was dismissed from the position of Oil and Gas Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with his transfer to another position', a statement said.

According to another decree, Uzakbai Karabalin was appointed Oil and Gas Minister. Karabalin has served as president of the Kazakh Oil and Gas Institute since 2009.

Sauat Mynbayev has held the post of Oil and Gas Minister since March 2010.

Earlier, Mynbaev served as Kazakh Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the board of Samruk Kazakhstan Holding for Management of State Assets, Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Director General of the Caspian Industrial Financial Group, President of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Minister of Agriculture, Deputy head of the Kazakh presidential administration and Minister of Finance.
