Kazakhstan's First Deputy Foreign Minister, Commissioner of the international specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" Rapil Zhoshybayev is on a visit to China's special administrative regions Hong Kong and Macau from September 16 to September 19, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.
The delegation includes representatives of the tourism industry committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the Foreign Ministry and Astana EXPO-2017 JSC NC.
There were negotiations with Secretary (Minister) for Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So on September 16 within the visit. Zhoshybayev briefed his interlocutor about Kazakhstan's international initiatives. The parties had detailed exchange of views on the current status and prospects of Kazakh-Hong Kong cooperation.
"Investment interaction was mentioned as a priority," the report said.
In addition, a round table of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council was organized with participation of the representatives of business circles within the visit to Hong Kong special administrative region (SAR). The parties discussed the possibility of Hong Kong companies' participation in implementation of projects for organization of EXPO-2017 in Astana.
In addition, the Kazakh delegation will attend the World Economic Forum on tourism, "Macau-2013" within the visit to Macau special administrative region on September 17-18. There will be held negotiations with the head of Macau SAR administration Chui Sai On during this event.
"It is planned to discuss issues of expanding interaction in the sphere of tourism during the meeting. There will be held several meetings with the heads of large companies of Macau SAR in order to attract investments for EXPO-2017 exhibition," the report said.
