Kazakh border guards attacked at Kyrgyz border

Kazakh border guards were attacked by 5-6 horsemen and one Mitsubishi Pajero SUV without personalized number plates 7 kilometers far from the Kyrgyz border, Kazinform reported with the reference to the Kazakh Border Service under the National Security Committee.
The attacked border guards fired seven shots into the air and the attackers fled to the mountains.
The incident occurred while Kazakh border guards escorted 16 horses seized from smugglers at Sortobe border post. The trespassers tried to smuggle the horses from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan and fled back to Kyrgyzstan when were found out by Kazakh border guards.
At the moment, the border guards and regional department of the Interior Ministry are searching for the unknown people who made the attack. A similar SUV was found not far from the scene.
