Two-day road show organized by Kaznex Invest to present investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan has kicked off in Brazil, Kaznex Invest reported.
According to the report, the main event of road-show was Kazakh-Brazilian business forum, which recently took place in San-Paolo with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrisov.
The business visit of Idrisov and the road-show coincided with the opening of Kazakhstan's embassy in Brazil, which will be the first diplomatic representation in Latin America.
Business forum has brought together 60 large Brazilian companies, operating in agriculture, machinery, chemical industry, mining and metallurgical complex, aircraft and other. Deputy chairman of Kaznex Invest Kayrat Karmanov informed the participants about investment opportunities of Kazakhstan.
After the official part of the forum, the event continued in the form of presentation of investment opportunities of various fields of Kazakh economy. In particular, the management of "United Chemical Company" presented their projects in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Within the forum, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan met with representatives of the largest Brazilian companies.
Idrisov discussed the possibility of establishing meat and food goods production in Kazakhstan, as well as development of grazing and creation of R&D-centers (research centers), with producers of JBS food products and Conservas Oderich SA.
In May of 2013, representatives of JBS and Conservas Oderich SA paid a visit to Astana and participated in round-table at the head office of Kaznex Invest. JBS is a world leader in production of beef and poultry, which factories, farms and offices located around the world. Conservas Oderich SA - a manufacturer of canned foods - exports its products to 47 countries of the world (Japan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Azerbaijan, and etc.).
Kazakh FM also held a meeting with the representatives of Agrale and Magnesita. The meetings discussed the issues on localization of manufacture of agricultural technique, cooperation in mining and construction materials industry.
Agrale - Brazilian manufacturer of motor vehicles, tractors and diesel engines with 40 years of experience. Magnesita owns some of the largest and high quality magnesite deposits in the world with total estimated reserves of about 200 years. It is the third largest selling supplier of refractory products in the world. The company operates in 28 industrial and mining facilities in Brazil, China, Germany, USA, France, Belgium, Taiwan and Argentina.
Kazakhstan is interested in joint assembly production of agricultural machinery in the republic, as the domestic market of agricultural machinery and equipment is almost completely occupied by imported products. The greatest potential in this regard is presented in segments such as production of combine harvesters, wheel tractors, implements and machines for processing grain and forage crops.
