Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov met with Chairman of the Belarusian State Military-Industrial Committee Sergei Gurulev on Friday, the Kazakh Ministry reported.

The meeting was held within the visit of a Belarusian delegation headed by President Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan.

"The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the military-technical sphere," the Ministry said.

The parties stressed that the Kazakh-Belarusian subcommittee on military-technical cooperation worked successfully and that this body promotes the development of bilateral relations in the field.

"The Kazakh Defense Ministry is ready to enhance cooperation with Belarusian defense industry enterprises. We are interested in creation of joint Kazakh-Belarusian enterprises in our country," Adylbek Zhaksybekov said.

Moreover, the parties discussed issues of further maintenance of Kazakh armed forces' aircraft in the Belarusian enterprises, and a new Aviation and Technical Center which will be created in Astana.
